The SMG-11 is aptly described in the game as:
An insane rate of fire in a subcompact package.
This gun can be picked up in southern Pucara province, in a quarry, on top of a tall building. A “Fuel Drop” side mission is nearby to steal a helicopter. The weapons case is inside an open container on the roof of the building.
There are two areas of the quarry; the first is a storage area for mining equipment and there are four enemies here plus one patrolling outside. Easy pickings. The second area behind has the side mission and another five narcos guarding the helicopter. The building is between the two areas, so you don’t need to disturb the side mission to get the gun.
I can’t stand these machine pistols personally. This and the Skorpion (found in Remanzo) – yeuugh! But seeing as they’re similar, and really very different from the other handguns, let’s compare these two instead of the regular pistolas.
With both the SMG-11 and the Skorpion, there are no accessory options. The only customisation is whether you extend or fold their buttstocks. Same deal.
The main difference between the two is the magazine capacity. Neither have a high cap mag option remember, and while the Skorpion has a 30 round magazine, the SMG-11 suffers with a tiny 20 round magazine. Given both of these guns high rates of fire, that kind of takes any fun out of them for me.
The benefit of the SMG-11 over the Skorpion? It has better handling in the stats, but that’s about it. Add to that you can’t suppress these crazy little things, and I never touch them
